Her First White Dress

Not only do we have an beautiful, perfect granddaughter....
She rocked an awesome
dress
on her blessing day...
made by your's truly.

Okay, maybe that's a self-serving post.
Sorry.
She just looks so darn beautiful in it.

Seriously,
I've made a lot of beautiful white dresses -
many wedding gowns
and even a burial dress for a sweet baby
who left this mortal life too early -
But this was a wonderful experience.
I look forward to making more
for other granddaughters
in the future.

Break Time

As you can see, this is my first post in quite a while.
My absence from my blog has caused me quite a bit of guilt.
I had intended for this blog to be a sharing outlet for all my projects,
which it will remain,
but life has thrown me a curve ball
and I'm working full-time again.

While I am thrilled and very thankful for this wonderful job opportunity,
the training has been grueling and time consuming,
and there just hasn't been any time at all for crafting and sewing.

So, I'm taking a little break, hopefully not too long, until I get a grasp on my new job and all it entails.

When I return to blogging,
I will bring you some tutorials that I've had sitting on the back burner for a while
get you all caught up on things around here.

'till then,

Our weekend....

I can't remember a weekend with so much going on at once!
First, the arrival of Cooper Joseph in the wee hours of Friday.
Then, that same evening...

Matt and Britnie
tied the knot.
followed by quite a p-a-r-t-y!
Our family had a blast
and my husband showed off a few dance moves
that haven't been seen on a dance floor since the 70s. (grin)
Then,
the next day
around 11:00 am,
my oldest
graduated from his master's program
in occupational therapy.
So proud of him!!

Wow!
I'm ready for some quiet time this weekend.

Just call this the year of the weddings.

I'm sure this family has broken some sort of record somewhere for the most weddings in one family in one year.
That's right.
We are heading into another  wedding.
This time it's this handsome soldier.
Marrying his long-time girlfriend,
Britnie.

Next month.
August 5th go be exact
before he head overseas
on assignment.

This kinda snuck up on us.
Whew!!

Fabric Luv

I
LUV
great pieces of fabric.
I'm the kind of person that
walks into a fabric store
and gets a high from
the smell of fresh
fabric.
Crazy, huh?
And
I'm a bit of a fabric snob.
If it doesn't fit my criteria,
it won't find its way home
to my stash.
I kind of have internal barometer
of what deserves to be in my project lineup.
And, yes, this does sound cliche,
but it must
scream
"BUY ME!!"
A few pieces out of
Ann Kelle's Ready, Set, Go
line of fabrics
and a couple of great
polka dots from the Micheal Miller Collection
called to my grandmother's
heart.
Sunny Ta Dot
Trains in Bermuda
Trains in Lake
Cars in Bermuda
Airplanes in blue
Dumb Dot in Clementine

This fabric should
keep me out of trouble
at least for a couple of days.
{{grin}}

I'll keep you posted on the results.

Happy First Day of Summer!

Forgive my lack of posting lately.
Work and family has just kept me from doing
some fun sewing and sharing.

But,
I did
find these
wonderful
summer flowers
on my desk this
morning
with love
from
my
sweetheart.

Sew wonderful!

What I've Been Up To.....

Restocking my Etsy Store
with these goodies

A couple of very stylish ways
to tote those scriptures to church, or to take anything anywhere for that matter.

I've let my inventory slide while preparing for the weddings we've had around here.

Good to be back in full production!

MIA No More

Yes,
I've been Missing In Action
from my blog.

I didn't mean to stay away so long,
but with the wedding and all.....
AND
Blogger wouldn't let me onto my blog for a whole week!

But,
I'm back with new ideas for the blog and new projects to focus on.

The wedding was fabulous BTW.

Here are a few pix by
for you to enjoy.
