O Holy Night

I may not be able to spend much time this week on blogging,
But I wanted to share a special video as my
special
Christmas Gift
to all of you.
May there be peace and happiness in your Christmas Season this year.
God Bless!

Enjoy a Serious Sugar Rush

Good Morning, Blog Land!
My posts have been kind of
few and far between these past few days.
Busy, busy, busy.
Who isn't?

We are in the
home stretch
and
here is a bit of
sweet inspiration
and some great recipes
for those last-minute
gifts/goodies
of the season.
Have a wonderful day!

Need I say more?
I've always been facinated by the whole
idea of homemade marshmellow.
Light, fluffy, gooey, sweet.
Perfection.
Looking for something a little different to give this year?
there is a great recipe for
gummy candy.
Who doesn't love gummies?
What a great tutorial, too!
Nothing says Christmas like
Aren't these great?
I may actually
give these a try.
For the ultimate
in
do-it-yourself
sweet treats
this season,
try
these
I mean, come on.
Homemade Snickers.
The freshest ingredients.
Made with love.
Heaven.

And last, but not least,
my fudge recipe.
Now, this is not a picture of the fudge I make.
No.
It never lasts long enough
to get a good picture of it.
Nor have I made any
yet this season
because,
well,
having this stuff laying
around the house
causes me
to loose all self-control
and
I
will
eat the
whole
pan
all
by
myself.
Seriously.
So, I'm waiting until just
before Christmas
when the house is
full of people
to eat it
and leave me
just
enough
to feed
my serious
fudge
addiction.
Seriously.

Five-Minute Fudge
3(6 oz) pkgs of chocolate chips
1(14 oz) Eagle Brand Sweet Condensed Milk
1-1/2 t. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Melt morsels and condensed milk in microwave
1 minute on high.
Stir.
Melt 1 more minute on high.
Mix vanilla and nuts.
Pour into a buttered 8" square pan.
Chill 2 hours.
Cut into squares.
Cover and store at room temp.

This only takes about 5 minutes to make.
It is by far the easiest, best fudge
EVER!

Sugar Overload or What to Leave Santa With That Milk

These just scream
LEAVE ME FOR SANTA,
don't they?

Cupcakes being all the rage,
it's natural to expect them to
show up at some point in cookie form.
Aren't these pretty?
Inspiration found at the The Cupcake Blog.
Here's a friendly little guy.
What's Christmas without Gingerbread Men (and women)?
Has tons of great gingerbread recipes!
The Food Network is a great source
for some fabulous holiday treats like
Wow!
I love ways to get more cookie
into a cookie!
That means more cookie in the mouth!
Yes!
brings us some buttery, light
Spritz cookies,
aways a Christmas favorite!
And last but certainly not the least,
my mom's
best,
ultimate,
totally awesome
Christmas NEVER happened without
dozens made well in advance,
stashed in the freezer, then
carefully packaged and
handed out to neighbors and friends.
Try them with red and green M&Ms!

No matter what comes out of your
ovens this Holiday Season,
may there be many
loved ones around you to share!

Deck the Halls

I just want to thank
all you kind folks
for the
wonderful comments
and
support
I've recieved as a new comer
in
Blog Land.
This has truly
been one of the best
experiences
I've had thus far on the computer!

In the quest for the perfect
Wreath
for my front door this year,
I started
surfing the Net to see what was
fun,
different,
even wierd
in the world of
wreaths.

Here's some of
what I ran
across in
my search
for
the
perfect
wreath.

Here's to
Holiday Inspiration!
Enjoy.

Getting the kids involved
In the decorating is
Always a fun part of the Holidays.
This paper wreath is just the ticket for
An afternoon of Holiday crafts.

How about something straight out of the garden?
Here in the Southwest, gardens grow year round.
So, why not?
This wreath is made of green and red chillies
accented with leaves.

How's this for upcycling?
A wreath entirely out of
Now that's cool!
Right within a tight bugdet, too!

I took a double take on this one at first.
But what a GREAT idea!
What do-it-yourself diva doesn't have
a bunch of wood scraps around?
This wood wreath has style
with a capital
"S"

This one is my all-time favorite
and one that
I think
I am going to tackle
for my newest
wreath
Now I have something to do with
All that yarn that is
Multiplying
In my yarn bin.
Find this wreath here with a full tutorial
Love it!
It's a great site to look over, too.
Double bonus!

And of course...
...wreath cookies to
sweeten the season.

And the stockings were hung by the chimney with care....

Who dosesn't just love Christmas Stockings?
Especially filled with all sorts of goodies inside.
One of the most prized Christmas
items I have is the red flannel
stocking with my name all in glitter
that dad brought home one night
as a surprise for each of us kids.
I still have it.
I'll never part with it.
It holds some wonderful
Christmas morning
memories.

With the Holidays fast approaching
I'm sure you are like me...
decorating is on the brain.
Here are some fun and unique
Christams stockings
to get those
decorative juices flowing.
Have a great weekend!

Wild life at its best.
Love these!
Besides being just darn cute,
they're perfect for those
gifts on your list.
Stockings out of old blue jeans.
Of course!
Why didn't I think of that.
By far, I think these are the most creative stockings I've found so far.
Recycled stockings out of old sweaters!
Genius.
Aren't these great!
I hooked a rug tree skirt
for our first Christmas tree.
What fun that was!
These remind me a bit of that
first Christmas together.
Who said yellow isn't a great
Christmast color?
Not me.
I have always wanted to learn
how to knit socks.
It's one of those things on
my bucket list.
Here's a great example of
Sigh. Someday I'll have the time.
I found these over at Moda Bakeshop.
I really think homemade stockings
are the best.
Very stylish, don't ya think?
Great way to end a search for
Christmas stockings!
Yum.
for the Holidays.
