19? Really? No way...

It was just yesterday, wasn't it?
it had to be
yesterday.
No?
Really?
I know that we just
brought
you home;
a beautiful, perfect little girl.

What a joy
it has been
to watch you
grow
and change
no matter how hard I
tried to stop it.
Grandma used to say,
"sprinkle no-grow on her."
I tried
to dust your little brown head
with the
immaginary dust
that could freeze time
even if it was just
 for
a
minute
and keep you
small
and innocent
from the
world
and its
harsh
realities.
But, grow you did.
Through those awkward years
 and those nasty braces.
Wasn't that the longest 2 years of your life??
Well, at least so far.
Let's not forget driver's training
and that driver's license
road test
that you
nailed the first time.
Then there were the dances
and the boys hanging around
that you thought were so cool
and turned out not to be.

And then came graduation...
That night was so bitter sweet.
I was so proud
but felt like weeping because
you were slipping
through my
fingers and would
be gone
before I knew it.

So, here you are now, all grown up and
becoming an awesome young lady
with a bright and wonderful
future ahead of you.

So, there it is,
19
years
come and gone
in a
flash.

But that's the way it's supposed to be, right?
To grow up to be an adult
with responsibilities
with a life all your own.

And that's the point your at now --
the world at your feet,
able to become anything that what you want to be.

So here's wishing the best
and all the love and good things
You deserve.
Love you!!

Happy 19th Birthday
Kaylee!

Love,
Mom and Dad
